Can you still play poker online in the US?

On Friday October 13th, President Bush signed a bill which included the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 sending online poker sites and players scrambling to find out what it all means. Basically, the unlawful gambling act makes it illegal for financial institutions to work with online gambling sites – including poker sites. But, nowhere in the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act does it state that it is illegal to PLAY online poker. Many online poker sites instantly banned US players, but many others are fighting the legislation and are still available to US players. In fact, these sites are offering great bonuses and incentives to try and capture the US market vacated by many of the giants in the industry including Party Poker.
