Helldorado Days starts off the weekend

Today begins the 73rd year of Helldorado, where Cashman Field turns into a giant Western Village.
If you’re ever looking for something decidedly un-Vegas like to do, this is it.
This weekend you’ll see a trap shooting tournament, horseshoe tournament, trail ride guided tour, whiskerino contest, the Helldorado Rangers, a parade, a carnival, a kiddie park, and much more.
Tickets are free, hours are today and tomorrow 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday noon to midnight, and Sunday noon to 11 p.m. Donations benefit the University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Next weekend, Binion’s hosts a Hellorado Days poker tournament for a $225 buy-in on May 26 at 11 a.m.
